The network aims to promote the development of a “chain of basalt fiber”, from production and characterization of the fiber to realization of the finished product, across all industries (PPE textiles, shipbuilding, composites reinforcement, thermal insulation) in which this fiber innovative, totally inert and free of environmental hazards, can be applied.

The goal is the sharing of technical and commercial knowledge, essential for the growth of the use of a material that, since now, is difficult to supply and with a widely variable quality because of its small lots production.
