"BASFA - International workshop on BASalt Fiber Application" (November 27, 2007)

Inside Basaltnet Project, the workshop "BASFA - International workshop on BASalt Fiber Application" was presented November 27, 2007 at the CPTM; members of national and international companies operating in this industry and researchers who study the different applications basalt fibres attended the event.

The workshop was intended to highlight new trends in the world of composites are now oriented towards the replacement of the glass fibers with the basalt fibres. Today, basalt fibers have better resistance to the high temperatures and compatibility with the skin of workers that is normally affected by known and annoying dermatitis on contact with the fiberglass.

In the prospect of developing technologies that relate to the basalt fibers in Tuscany and Italy, the workshop was an opportunity for a technical meeting involving all the people who have an interest in their production.

"VGR 2008 - Assessment and Risk Management in Civil and Industrial Settlements" (October 14-16, 2008)

CPTM with Tecnotessile in October participated in the Conference "VGR 2008 - Assessment and Risk Management in Civil and Industrial Settlements". On this occasion the two partners presented the basalt fiber and some applications of particular relevance to the topics treated at the conference. The exhibition was visited in three days from various stakeholders who have requested more information on the various applications of the material and details of the network.

WORKSHOP - "The Basalt fiber: industrial applications and potential" (January 22, 2009)

Inside of the "C.S.B. - Consolidation and Development of the technology transfer network Basalt-Net", funded by the Tuscany Region, on 22 January 2009 at the CPTM was presented a workshop entitled "The Basalt fiber: industrial applications and potential" that has allowed us to get in touch international companies that produce, sell and carry out scientific research on fiber and businesses that would toscane greater interest in its use. During the day's work was presented Basalt-Net network together with the work done to date and was also made available the material. They attended the twenty companies that have already had occasion to come into contact with issues relating to the basalt and representatives of Confederation of Livorno and the Provincial Administration.
